The Mahindra Marazzo is the first ever MPV of India that got a 4-star safety rating in the global NCAP crash test. That’s something Mahindra should celebrate about and the people who look for a 7 or 8 seaters MPV should make their decision quite easily and quickly.
The first look at the design of its exterior will give you a picture of an aggressive shark as they often look and the name Marazzo is what describes it the best as it means Shark in the Basque language. Most of the exterior designs are creatively crafted taking the body shape of a shark into consideration.
Exteriors
Now that you have the picture of a shark in your mind, you can clearly visualize and understand where the concept and inspiration of the MPV was taken from. The grille is designed accordingly to the razor-sharp teeth of shark which, in the chrome shading, glaze a bit. In addition to that, the headlamps are well aligned with the grille that leaves it with a smiling shark with sharp glazing teeth. The side profile is quite appealing and indeed give you a feel of a premium model. You can notice the well oriented aerodynamic design with a perfect angel of ascending in the front which flows well keeping the windows span not so big enough, rather with a perfect proportion. The canted side design appeals an aggressive and sporty look. The good looking 17-inch alloy wheel enhance its stance more. From rear, it does not speak out loud except the triangular tail lamps that mimic the fin of a shark accentuated by a chrome strip moving along the line of entire hatch.

Interiors
The first impression you get as you step into the cabin is that there is ample amount of space inside. Even though it is specious, the space has been well managed to accommodate more as it is 7-seater but without compromising the comfort and convenience. Seats are wide and well cushioned with added armrest and adjustable headrest. Moving to the second row, you will not find any reason to complain about as it provides you with decent amount of knee room, and legroom to have your movements quite comfortable. The third-row seats don’t give you enough knee room as it is rightly evident due to the lack of space, however, it is meant for kids and they can comfortably sit well there.
The dashboard comes with dual tone piano black and beige that gives it a premium look. The plastic used is of good quality with a finished surface. In the center of the dashboard, you can have a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has an auto climate control with roof mounted ac vents for the second and third rows. It got a boot space of 190 L which is not quite enough but with the third row folded, you get adequate amount of space for your luggage.
Performance
Now, talking about it’s performance, Marazzo is only available in 1.5 L, 4 cylinders diesel engine which produces 123 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque with a 6-speed manual transmission system. It offers a mileage of 17.3 Km/L.
The price of Mahindra Marazzo starts from 9.99 Lakh to 14.37 Lakh and come with 4 variants namely: M2, M4, M6 and M8.
The overall features, design and performance is great, and it gives you a good drivability and stability on highway and city even getting loaded with 7 people. Looking at other MPV, it is a bit cheaper, still it provides all those you need and expect in a MPV.
